It caused Roan's ears to flatten against his head, the edges of them faintly scraping against his growing horns. His mother was crying, his sister was upset, his cousin was desperately trying to hold everything together... why was it that every time Aphra appeared, everything went to shit? The siamese shot a cold glare in her direction, his usual serene blue eyes taking in her guilty form without much sympathy. She should've just come and offered support, not shamed Ry for a fact that he couldn't change now. It was all just arrogance and peacocking, and he hated it. He was sure that Ahab did too, and Goldie as well. He honestly had no idea how the captain hadn't already been driven over the edge with all of this nonsense. He was just a sage, and he already felt as if he was going to go crazy. A soft sigh leaving him, Roan decided to deal with his mother first, moving over to her and pressing his soft fur into her side, "Está bien, mamá. Lo encontraremos. Estoy seguro de ello." He had no idea if the softly spoken Spanish would actually provide any comfort for his mother, but he had to believe that it would, somehow. After all, it wasn't as if he could serve her up Ry's location on a plate, as much as he wished that he could.
Once he had comforted his mother, Roan turned his attention back to Brandykit, knowing that the other needed medical attention soon. He was going to let Ahab take the reins, but he could at least start on what needed to be done. Always the more traditionalist of the two, Roan felt the flat of his tongue press up against the roof of his mouth in thought, digging through the bag around his waist for what he would need. Burns, punctures, and scratches. Bandages were obvious, but he also pulled out aloe vera, comfrey root, and dock. Neither the comfrey root nor the dock was particularly pleasant to taste, but the poultice was good for soothing scratches, so Roan moved over to Brandykit with it, carefully applying it to the scratches and punctures. He then bandaged them up, being careful not to press down too hard and cause Brandy any undue pain. Once those were taken care of, the sage focused on the burn. He winced at the scent of slightly burnt flesh, taking the aloe vera he had and chewing it. The bitter taste made him wrinkle his nose, but he soon applied it to the burn liberally, being careful not to press down too hard. Once again, he followed this up with bandages, going slowly as not to make Brandy flinch away.
Once his actual treatment was done, Roan tucked away what little was left of his herbs and bandages, making a mental note to replenish his stock later. It would take some searching in the jungle, and maybe some bartering with the merchants that often came to visit, but he could deal with that. As soon as everything was safely tucked away back in his bag, Roan's calm blue eyes focused on Brandy, "How do you feel now...? You don't need any poppy seeds or anything, do you?" He hoped not, considering how all the books he had read said that poppy seeds could be extremely addictive. They were good at what they were meant for, but they could easily be a slippery slope, and Roan didn't particularly want to injure Brandy's mental state any more than it had already been affected by everything going on. He was already full of guilt and shame for what happened to Ry, wasn't that enough?
