A Guide to Badges

Welcome to the badge guide! Badges are a cool addition to every BoB user's profile, showing their group ranking and achievements on-site. This is NOT a badge request thread. Please post any badge request here.

Available Badges

Roleplay-Related

Group Badges: These badges can be earned through gaining a high position, such as leader or medic! By keeping active and polite, you can possibly gain these positions within this groups. In order: Coalition of The Condemned, The Pitt, Tanglewood, The Typhoon.

Generational Badges: Characters within an advanced family can earn this badge. First generation characters without IC parents do not a receive a badge, but upon having children, their children will earn a second generation badge. When those children have kids, they will earn the third generation badge... and so on.

Uncharted Territories: Any group who reaches the qualifications for the Uncharted Group Rewards receives a badge to commend the event and designate their rank.

Donation

Donator: The Donator badge is given to users who contribute to Beasts of Beyond's Paypal Pool. In return, they get this badge, a bunch of gems, and a special rank!

Staff

General Staff Badge: To honor current and former staff members, they are given this badge. It implies they are a staple within BoB's community. They deserve many thanks, so please send them kind messages!

Group Badges: These badges can be earned through gaining a high position, such as leader or medic! Sadly, due to these clans being merged/removed, you cannot earn these anymore. In order: Elysium, Sunhaven, The Rosebloods, Snowbound, The Ascendants, Palm Glades

Event

Easter Bunny Hunt 2020 An Easter Bunny Hunt... that goes sideways? Characters were given a choice between killing a bunny or hunting eggs, resulting in two different badges. These amazing eggs are by Tikki!

Getting Ghosty!: To celebrate Halloween, a mysterious ghost event popped up within Tanglewood. Ghosts traveled across the groups, haunting them furiously. To get the badge, users were required to write a post about their character being haunted with the minimum of 250 words. This badge is by the amazing Reggan!

October 2019 CDC: A character development challenge hosted by Tikki provided this badge. Users were required to make five threads with the given prompts and their characters to receive this badge.

Valentine's Day 2019: Love is in the air! Within this serene event, several events such as blind dating and singles seminar were hosted by multiple users. The requirements to receive this badge were to post a minimum of five times or host a Valentine's themed thread then post three times.

Donation

Breast Cancer Research Foundation Donator: In October of 2018, Beasts of Beyond hosted it's first charity run. During October, we supported the Breast Cancer Research Fund and raised $300+ dollars! All users who donated received a badge, a special rank, and gems. Thank you to everyone who participated in the event and donated.

Rainforest Action Network Donator: Within 2019, another charity run started. This time we supported the Rainforest Action Network, otherwise known as RAN. We raised almost $300 this time around! Similar to last time, these users acquired the badge, a special rank, and plenty of gems as a thank you. You could also find a super secret rainbow toucan in a special place on-site!

Xerces Donator: 2020 brings our third charity run. This year we supported invertebrate by donating to the Xerces Society for Invertebrate Protection. Just like our previous runs, we provided a badge, rank, and gems as a thank you. We also added special stickers for purchase.

Monthly Spotlight / Awards

Choice Awards: Users voted at the beginning of the year for their favorite users, characters, and more! In order: Best Artist, Best Character, Best Couple, Best Group, Best Leader, Best Plot, Best Plot-Maker, Best Villain, Best Writer, Funniest Member, Most Helpful Non-Staff Member, Most Helpful Staff Member. First two sets of trophies are by Orion, the last by Teef.

Monthly Spotlight 2019, 2020, 2023: Users and characters who are active, friendly, and invested in the site receive this badge for their dedication. As a monthly spotlight winner, users/characters get a designated and highlighted on the site's index for the entire month.
