IM JUST A SOUL WHOSE INTENTIONS ARE GOOD -

[OOC: trigger warning ⚠️ corpse ]
It had only been a day but for Kydobi each hour was a dark eternity. No matter the weather his life was casted in a gray haze.
Time passed but he didn’t really process it so it was all a blur to him. What happened didn’t matter. Sure it was selfish. He took no shame in being selfish as he laid there in the hut, cuddling his son’s cold stiff body. Eventually the other Pittians has left him alone to grieve however he did.
But it had been a whole day he hadn’t moved. Thankfully no one had come to bother him as he stared at the wall of the hut. There was no thought and no feeling. His heart would faintly beat, every once in a while he would get a faint sense of pain deep in his soul that was centered in his chest. Yet his mind remained empty, he was in another place.
Pier’s body would be pressed against his chest and wrapped in his embrace. It didn’t register in Kydobi’s mind that there was no good to come from coddling a corpse. There was a glossy look in the jaguar’s fiery eyes although they were far away.
Where he was he couldn’t say, but thankfully it wasn’t that dark damp place called death. Maybe he was stressing over where his son was right now, if anywhere. Maybe he was reminiscing. Or maybe he was hiding himself from reality in the safest corner of his mind where no one could reach him. What happened there none could say but it was a place of comfort and that felt more authentic and real than the chaotic dream he woke up to everyday.
Of course the noises of Astiar could somehow bring him out, or at least return some thought. Because the bug didn’t buzz in such a way for nothing. Besides something about the urgency and confused cadence caught Kydobi’s attention.
His ears would flick back in the direction of the noise to listen to what was happening. Anything short of a raid would probably not get Kydobi up from his spot. His body ached a little from being still for so long but now it was as numb as the rest of him.
His ears perked at the mentioning of his son’s name. From the mouth of Sweeney. Mentioning a ghost, perhaps she was just being a brat per usual. Whatever.
Of course it was fine until he spoke. Kydobi nearly jumped up, accidentally throwing his sons corpse against the wall. He didn’t mind, his heart was thundering as he crouched out the door to look. He would see a familiar body. A strong body.
“PIERS!” he yelled.
