Boredom was the number one obstacle to face Octane since arriving in this dimension. Mental stimuli had been so easy in the future, his eyes and ears barraged by a constant laser show of lights and sounds, three games, two youtube videos, and twitter running all at the same time across two monitors and running his beautiful gaming PC oh so hard. Now there was nothing, not even any drugs to get a good hit or high off of. He should have asked Caustic to bottle up that amazing venom in his teeth, give him a needle and let him go. Octane jittered and shook at the thought of the needle stabbing into his veins and stinging his blood, collapsing as the high of numbness took of his brain. Caustic’s venom could never compare to stim or weed or any of the other juicy chemicals Octavio once put in his body but holy shit at least was something, it had the same green color, too! They always looked nice in green together, Octane’s crop tops and the plaid shirts he was able to force Caustic into every once in a while. Caustic had habitually dressed like a librarian- slacks and sweaters, and Octavio wore shorts and shirts all the time. The ones with patterns were always fun.
It would be nice if the wolf was here, and his head turned in the direction of Tanglewood, where the scientist was no doubt hunched over the portal maker in his basement, trying to fix the stupid thing. Pulling Caustic away from work and pushing his buttons was just as fun as hitting himself with a stim. An adrenaline rush because the scientist resorted to violence oh so quickly and Caustic beating the shit out of him as just as good. Octane couldn’t help him attraction to danger and violence- it had gotten him attention from his fans and Caustic’s obsessive hold over and over, like the addict he was.
Slowing down was hard. Patience and conformity was a requirement in Caustic’s lab, rules he had to follow to get what he wanted, but he was the pursuer and thus was in just as much control. Octane had to slow down, now, as he kept himself low to the ground, hovering just above the grass. His eyes were locked on the rabbit, breathing slow and low as he closed in on it. Leaping forwards, Octane sunk his claws into it, grabbing in and sitting up as it squirmed in his paws. “It’s alright little amigo, no one’s gonna hurt you, I got you,” He started to muse, holding on as it started to attempt to free itself. “Maybe I’ll keep you, ey?” A chuckle left Octane, his ears perking as he heard a twig snap behind him.
