It was always easier for Izuku to open up when there was something for him to fixate on. If it was combat that got him to open up, then, well .. so be it. He'd been interested in it since he was very small, after all -- he'd wanted to be a hero. He wanted to protect people like All Might did, and -- and maybe Izuku hadn't been able to practice and train himself, but he'd drunk up all the technical information he could.Maybe it was paradoxical. It didn't really matter to Izuku, who was still regarding Revolver with pricked ears. Maybe it was mere curiosity, as Revolver hoped, but Izuku was -- a little more invested than just wanting to, impersonally, learn a new skill. It'd be useful, even if not something Izuku is at all inclined to do on a regular basis.
"N, No," Izuku flinches. It hurt to remember his mom, completely absent, and who'd have more injuries to worry about than the cut of a knife. Worse yet -- no powers. Quirkless. It wasn't the sort of thing he'd admit willingly, without pressing, but -- it was relevant, wasn't it? And Revolver was -- he didn't have that voice people tended to use when asking about it.
The admittance makes the kitten almost jittery -- the slightest return of his usual behavior. However, it dissipates fairly quickly as Izuku retrieves the knife from the air, dropping it to his paws as he banishes whatever quirk analysis thoughts were trying to take root.
"You throw it from the side then, right?" Is all Izuku says, thoughtful. His tail twitches, and his head tilts. "You -- you wouldn't be able to throw it from the front, u - unless there's a specific way to do so. It'd have to be somewhat imprecise, too, because there's not a lot of ways to turn your head if you're tossing it like that --" Izuku breaks off, looking sheepish and maybe a little wild-eyed with growing anxiety. He wouldn't claim to know anything about knife throwing, but he can make some assumptions in theory, but -- he doesn't think the ocelot would appreciate his mumbling and assumptions, especially since he'd probably been about to explain how it worked -- and it was creepy, anyways, or so he's been told. A lot of times people would just ... tell him to shut up or -- or maybe Revolver would get him to leave, it's not like Izuku's ever been in this sort of interaction before, he can't be sure. Or. Or.
Well. At least it wasn't a full-blown mumble session. Izuku had been trying to keep it to a minimum, lately.
