draekon rose back up, hesitating as he tried his hardest to find something to say. he knew he could speak, he had spoken multiple words with bai shi, but he could feel aurums confusion, and that was throwing him way off. he hesitated, trying to pick the right words. had he ever spoken more than a few words to aurum? why had aurum loved him when he was practically feral? that was his own confusion mixing with aurums. "aurum-." he started, having to pause for a long moment as he gathered his thoughts.
"they wouldn't have let me stay." a full sentence. it was the first one he had spoken in so long that it made his throat sore immediately. his voice cracked on each word, some words becoming raspy like he had lost his voice, each word still a sort of growl. "i.. i didn't want to ruin what you had." he didn't deserve to be abandoned, but if he had stayed, he could have ruined everything aurum had- in his eyes, at least. he didn't want that for him, but seeing him now, he wondered if he should've stayed.
"i'm- fuck-." he cleared his throat loudly, shaking his head as he squeezed his eyes shut to clear his head. "i'm sorry."
