inhaling their scent, they relaxed beside them, "kidnapped!?" there was a start in their voice, edged by an unhappy growl with their ears pivoting to lay against their head. "your father took you against your will. are you alright? want me to go beat him up?" they asked softly, resting their much larger paw on top of idyll's smaller ones, sensing the turmoil writhing inside of the beloved sage.

though they could not see idyll's face, they could scent their embarrassment, shaking their head with a gentle hum, "its okay. if my dad said he wanted to see me, or kidnapped me, i would be curious and easy to fall prey to his schemes. but luckily for me ... that's not going to happen. he died before i was too old." they murmured, thinking of the oriental dragon that had been their father, in all his resplendent glory so many, many centuries ago before he died of illness.

their nose twitched softly as they reachdd out to gently hold the item in their great paws before they bowed their head, feeling the unique power currents, before exhaling warmly. "thank you. if you didn't help idyll escape, i certainly wouldn't be sitting here a happy man but a grieving friend.", they rumbled as they gently relinquished the quart spider pendant, "and i would most certainly not be spending time with the singular most important being in my time. but it's okay little pendant, i vow on my last dying bresth to protect your wearer myself. i vow to fight for idyllfields until my last breath leaves me, until the last drop of blood may depart my body, and even then, my soul will remain to protect them from harm." they vowed seriously, finally lifting their head to look up at idyllfields with a gentle smile, "if you'll have me by your side?"
