The first day of the Festival of Bertille, and it was time to celebrate Boniface. The light undergod was a trickster, representing luck of both good and bad. He was widely believed to take the shape of a squirrel whenever he was seen, and was probably the most mischievous of the gods, at least on the light side. It was unsurprisingly that he enjoyed meddling in mortal affairs, considering the fact that he presided over luck. After all, Vinny was fairly sure that if he was in charge of all luck in the world, he would certainly be using it to make deals with people, even if he didn't really need anything. After all, he couldn't imagine that Boniface needed that much. The creature was a god, for fuck's sake. Although, Vin did find himself occasionally wondering why Boniface picked such a tiny form, known for being a prey animal. Perhaps it was meant to represent just how lucky he felt, taking such a vulnerable form without a care in the world. Whatever it was, it wasn't as if the Halls was going to argue with his choice.

Anyways, in honor of Boniface, Vin had decided that the first event of the festival would be a gambling one. A game of poker, with everyone that wanted to play. They had the usual betting chips used in casinos, even though they didn't really have any actual value here. Having asked Aslisk to help him in order to clear out some of the snow in front of the town hall, Vinny had set up a large table with a bunch of cards, a ton of betting chips, and chairs in case people weren't tall enough to reach the table without them. Once everything had been set up, Vox went and dragged the shrine to Boniface out, which was a makeshift statue of a red squirrel holding onto a large bag of what looked to be golden coins. He pushed the statue nearby, just so that the entire scene would be set, before he called out loudly, "'Ey! Everybody in f'the festival! Today we're gonna be celebratin' Boniface, who is our under light god of luck! In 'onor of 'im, we're gonna be playin' a simple game of poker, so gather 'round!" Hopefully some of the Elysites would be in for this, considering he wasn't sure they'd have enough to play a decent game with just the usual Halls' members.
