laying in her den, the young teenager woke from darkness to near immediate darkness and held her breath to forcibly calm down. disentangling from her furs with a yelp, she gulped in air as she saw the sunlight in the ruined building. going lax against her bed, she whined at the stinging pain of aching scabs, her brows furrowed as she looked down her nuzzle at the angry red welts, her tongue rasping over the swollen cuts on what part of her shoulders she could reach. she was in so much pain ... and her auntie should be here soon. he promised he would be ... oh right, she needed to speak to kydobi.

drawing herself unsteadily to her feet, the girl staggered from her den, fever blurring her vision and making her see double. hazily sitting down next to a puddle, she lapped thirstily, her legs numb and prickling. with a wet throat, she tipped her head back and gave a short soft howl, that she knew the panther would hear and come to respond to. whenever she needed him when she was a child, she only had to howl ... hopefully he would still come.
