idyll had thought a lot about bai in their absence. they wished they spent more time together, feeling a bit guilty about missing the holidays to spend. they would have to make it up to them for sure. once the sage had settled back to the island and fixing up their stock they had got to working on a gift to bring their friend. something practical but meaningful.
they thought of eclipse as well, knowing just what to get her.
they had been down the beach, digging up old shark teeth and strange shells when the dragon had emerged from the shore. at first they hadn't noticed, still a bit too far away to notice the movement. of course until the dragon dragged themselves from the water onto the sand. idyll felt their heart skip, a smile forming on their lips as they rushed to greet them.
"bai! what are you doing here?" the reached up to touch their muzzle to bai's, feeling a strange sensation from the sand. "still figuring out your powers?" they teased, looking up at them with a warm smile.
