[font=trebuchet ms]As Valerian approached, Rin glanced over and offered him a small nod. The more time he spent in her sight, where she could keep an eye on him and help him if necessary, the better. The odds of him snapping back into the frame of mind he'd been in when he arrived on the border were seeming smaller by the day, but if he did, better for her to be there than for anyone else to get hurt.
Turning back to the stranger, Rin listened to him explain himself. He was indeed from the Halls of Hiraeth, and they were hosting a holiday dance... it certainly made sense for an upstart group to host events for all the other groups to attend, if they wished to get themselves out there and become known. Elysium could probably benefit from attending, between getting a closer look at how the Halls of Hiraeth operated, interacting with the other neutral groups, and determining how the Pitt was doing under Goldenluxury's control.
She still wasn't entirely convinced that the Halls wasn't an elaborate sham, but if it was, then this would be a good opportunity to determine that. Caution would be necessary, though. "I accept your invitation, and anyone in Elysium who wishes to go is welcome to," Rin answered. "I'll make an announcement so the rest of the group knows." That, and she'd let all of them know the escape plan in case the situation went out of control.
Tugging at her scarf, she added, "Actually, I'd been planning a trip to the Halls myself. Elysium is hosting a market festival, starting on the twenty-second, and everyone in the Halls is welcome to come." Hopefully their events would not conflict with each other. She didn't picture the dance lasting more than a night. "We're inviting Tanglewood and the Typhoon as well, and may be inviting the Pitt, depending on the situation there."
