but faith, destiny, whatever deities out there, they smile down on you. they give you a second chance.

you rise from the ashes, swearing and promising that you will do better, that you will try harder. but your fur is singed and the smell of smoke still clings to you in a way that can never be washed off.

death has left it's mark on you, but you claw your way through the mud and reach for the sky, hoping that some day you can bathe yourself in the sun's warmth once again.

still, until that time comes, you have work to do. you are a hero, even though you no longer feel like one. you are a hero, dedicated to doing the right thing, even when no one else follows your lead.
