For a moment, the fox worried he may decide against telling her any. She shook her head stubbornly when he made his gentle protest, unmatched hues growing somewhat fierce. She meant it when she said she hardly cared for happy or sad. However, he seemed to pick one eventually, and she settled into attentively silence. Contradictory memory; sitting beside a large, happy wolf, regaling old legends and folklores about the sky.— T͏O̴G͠ETH͏ER̕ ÁT̴ ̸T̕H̶E ST͏ART̶ O͏F̀ ̵TI̡M͏E —
She created nonsensical patterns in the sky as he spoke, blinking at times and humming softly in thought. Orpheus sounded familiar. Had she heard the tale once before? Perhaps. She wondered how their tragic hero felt through all of this, and especially how he felt when Hades chose to test him after everything. All he had wanted to do was bring his love back. But everyone dies... Eventually. Perhaps the cruelty was attempting to bring someone back. And truly, she believes Hades' testing cruel. Fitting. Death is cruel. So was life.
She traces a pattern in the sand, quiet. Eventually, her eyes flash down from the sky, blinking at Torren thoughtfully. A sweet smile, for a sad tale. For a second, she ponders if someone would be so damn stubborn to attempt bargaining with death for her. Of course, eternal love was... Sweet, she supposed. Which was, she decided, Zeus intended to represent by placing the lyre in the sky. To recognize Orpheus' love for Eurydice. "… I like... The story," she finally murmured, despite the sad tidings it spoke of. "… Thank you."
The fox found herself too, looking out across the water. The stars seemed more fluid in the reflection, truly dancing. Eventually, they'd fade away. Stars were hardly eternal. In the end, she was frightened of that. Fading away entirely. Eurydice hadn't faded away. No, she died, but she left a love behind.
She breathed out softly, feeling altogether too lethargic. Far too much for someone so friendly as Torren. Wḩ́ỳ̢ ͢͝d̶̀o ̛yo͘ư͡ ̶̸̸c̶͟a҉ŗ҉̢e҉?̨ Her eyes drooped a little, achingly tired but intent on staying awake. Unwilling for another restless night. "W-where... Did you study? T-the stories... I mean?" Likely from books, but she felt curious enough to ask.
