funny how sanzu was was learning to read where lark was learning to speak. picture books were much more helpful, but along with that came the repitition. something his birth mother lacked as she was always absent until nighttime, when it was time to sleep after eating.
"oh, larkspurkit. larky, larky." the memories would soon fade, and his mother's presence would mean nothing more to him than abandonment, but until then he could recall some moments with her before stark. most of them were pleasant, as he conveniently forgot the hungry ones. the nights spent alone under that dumpster just waiting for her to come back.
the kitten hopped up onto the chair with sanzu, then climbed up onto the table. "YUM!" he shouted, stomping the picture-less book underneath his paws and gnawing on the spine. oh... wait no. this tasted horrible. why did no one stop him? "YUM!" he repeated again, this time shaking his head.
