the sounds of coming war wormed its way into the ears of the dragon who laid in the sands of the camp, a long ominous body covered by the winds that had thrown the grains across the golden corpse.

a deep growling rumble would begin as the sand shifted around the body, bright blue eyes opening upon the corpse's face, mighty maw opening and giving a roar as soon as the reeking scent of swamp water crossed the olfactory sense of the massive beast. a cry to arms for the warriors of the pitt, an announcement of the arrival of opponents.

the beast's ears twitched silently within their mane at the child's voice, calling out for two of the fox fae within their camp. aine. she's too young and small to defend herself properly. the beast's thoughts would tell it, tail swinging free from the sand, calling the child's name, "child, come here.", their voice growled out, lips pulled back from their maw, gaze roving the camp, tracking the scent of the tresspassers, their body coiling and tensing in anticipation, eager to shed blood and bring the sacrificial lambs to slaughter.

war was their way, bred into their being and taught from the first breaths, their fellow broodmates choosing much simpler ways of life. they were born for war, craved it even, but they had changed since leaving the nest of their youth. their voice and posture was calm, hiding their excitement over this. they were grateful at this point for leaving their jian in their den, the bladed weapon easily of use to another being.

let the blade fall heavy, they were eager to rip into battle, to defend their home. the captured tanglers were of little consequence to the former leader, the ex roseblood was eager to have a fight brought to their doorstep.
