//me: gone for a day
y'all:
He hadn't been expecting to have his call answered in such a great mass. First it was that lion who had been among the first to find him in the forest, seemingly apologetic about appearing hostile at the time. Wormwood, as he was called. The crow tipped his head at the name suggestion. Call himself a different name until he remembered his own? That didn't sound like a bad idea.
As more and more Tanglers began to spout their own names as well as varying names for him, the corvus seemed to shrink into himself. To be frank, most of these names sounded awful or wrong to him, but he didn't know how to deny them. "O-okay," he stammered softly, not answering anybody's suggestion in particular. "Hi." He was more focused on remembering their names. Wormwood was the lion, got it. The scary hyena was... Vathmos, okay.
More and more animals of the predatory type kept appearing, the next being an entire alligator, and he found himself taking a few steps back. Reedy. A very colorful leopard showed next- Freza. Got it. Woodworm- wait, no, Wormwood, Va-Vathmos, Reedy, Red, Freza... Kretyn? Was that his name or another suggestion?
The little crow seemed overwhelmed, eyes flickering from one Tangler to the next, not sure what to say or to whom. At last came the fox, who was the first to find him in the woods. She also began to suggest names, and he pointedly focused on her in an attempt to clear his head. Bink. He froze for a moment, then perked. Bink. Something about that name sounded almost nostalgic. Bink... Bink... he couldn't think of anything. Was a memory tied to that name?
The crow tried to offer something similar to a smile. "I- I think I like that name. Bink." He looked down at the rock below his feet. "Thank you, uh..." Breaking off, he looked back up at her. "What did you say your name was, again? he asked sheepishly.
