Something had changed within her. Everything felt colder. Darker. It was odd considering it was spring. She had ignored it for as long as she could. It was easy until she met her.
Her.
"You're searching for something. Someone."
It was true. Suiteheart had been searching desperately for the souls. She needed Lil, Lissa, and Eli. She had had such hope in her heart when she found Margaery, but she was beginning to be crushed. Her mood was gray. She couldn't seem to be lifted. And this stranger... They knew that.
"I can help you, you know?" the flame-colored feline said, voice calm and kind. She even offered a gentle smile. "You're tired. I can help you, but you have to help me first. And then you can rest, having found what you are looking for."
She seemed so kind, so welcoming. Suiteheart trusted her. She had to. This creature knew something. "Who are you? How did you find me?"
The creature shook her head. "It's a secret. But it's okay. You're looking for Lil, right? Lilyspoise? I know where she is. And I know how to get the other two: Lissa and Eli. You want to find them, right?"
"But... I don't understand. How do you know them? How did you-" Suiteheart wanted to bombard the ginger creature with questions, but she was cut short.
"Not important." Her voice had somehow shifted. It was harder now, less gentle. "Here's the thing: I require a high price for giving information. And anyway, it's a price you'll have to pay. I know you live in the Ascendants. With Margaery. I know you two are lying to everyone. I can easily spill these secrets. I can easily hurt your wife. And I can easily make sure you never see your children again." A sick smile unfurled upon the stranger's lips, making Suiteheart shudder. "Now, now. No need to be so scared! I'm not scary. But my friends are. They're the one's who've helped me find this information. And my friends need something big from you."
Suiteheart frowned heavily. This was all too much... Her head was spinning. How did this girl know so much? Who the hell was she? But still... Suite needed to make sure her wife would be okay. She needed to find her children and to make sure they were safe. She needed them all to be okay, even at the greatest of all sacrifices.
"I don't understand..." she murmured. "How do you know so much?"
"I have friends in high places. And I've got friends in low places." The feline sat herself down, neatly wrapping her tail around her paws. She offered Suiteheart a gentle smile, but its undertones were so sinister it stirred Suite to her core. "Would you like to hear my price?"
Suiteheart inhaled deeply. She let the idea float around in her mind. Could she live with it? If it meant the safety of her wife and children and their reunion, she would live with and pay any price. She would have to. It was not out of the question. "Yes."
The being smiled that sick smile once more. "Great," she purred. "All I need is your soul. You'll still be here, but you will be mine. You'll do as I say. Forever. Simple as that. Do you accept?"
"Wait - I - but... I - I don't..." She watched as the feline arched an eyebrow.
"Oh, it's okay. I guess I'll be seeing you around, Suiteheart Folie. Say hello to your lovely wife for me. Maybe I'll find her instead. I'm sure she would give anything for her family. She obviously cares more than you." With that, the orange cat stood and began to walk off.
Suiteheart's eye grew wide. She... She couldn't let Margaery do this. No. She wouldn't allow it. The ivory feline called, "I-I accept." Her baby blue eyes fell to the floor. What would happen now?
"Perfect. Simply perfect."
A shot of absolute pain ripped through Suiteheart. The girl let out a wail. She began to grit her teeth as the other feline giggled. The world around her grew dim. It was darkening. Her chest hurt. Her head her. Her entire being screamed in pain.
And just like that, there was nothing.
The lifeless form of Suiteheart slammed to the floor. There was nothing. The body was lifeless. Empty.
"Did I say you'd live? Oops." the stranger giggled, turning to walk away. Such easy, simple work. It was almost pathetic at how quickly Suiteheart caved in. Oh, well, her soul would make an excellent present for the beast. He would enjoy this one, she was sure.
But her work was never done, was it? So off she went in search of more. All that was left was for Grassina to witness the reactions of her friends. This was a great joke, wasn't it? And to the two nerds reading this: it's just a joke. Suite still lives.
Her.
