The hound, engrossed in a deep, dreamless slumber, remained unaffected by the disturbance that rattled along his hut’s exterior. Through grumbling snores, Leroy rested soundly, completely unaware of his surroundings. In all honesty, he liked it that way; not having to give a shit about what was happening for once. For a brief period of so many hours, the world’s trouble and strife meant nothing. For a brief period of so many hours, he found inner peace. For a brief period of so many hours, he was entirely satisfied, as well as happy.
Knock.
Leroy winced, his sleepy eyes combating the overwhelming urge to wake at the noise that clattered against his door. The canine’s great tail indignantly smacked itself atop the floor’s cool surface.
Knock. The sound reverberated in his brain, obnoxiously bouncing around his skull.
Leroy raised his noggin away from the ground, choking on his foul-tasting breath as he yawned, before forcing the ocular region of his face into his forearm to clear out the funky gunk that rested in the corners of his eye sockets. A low groan stumbled out of his maw, the room’s dimmed lighting allowing his newly-cleaned peepers to unfasten themselves comfortably. The hound’s view travelled in the direction of the door, noticing a small shadow through the small opening below. "Comin'," the drowsy male mustered, ambling begrudgingly towards the the entranceway. He swung the door open without much caution, revealing his visitor as none other than Crow.
Realizing that the individual who stood at the foot of his home was none other than Tanglewood’s leader, Leroy’s guard raised slightly, shoulders tensing as a result. Had he broken one of the laws? Yeah, he was a tad rude to Sam in front of a potential joiner, and sure, he had injured Crow in the previous sparring session. But were those actions really punishable? The guardsman hoped not.
"Err- Crow, he’d grunt in a half-nervous half-wary tone, "whaddya want?".
An overhead gust of wind would shift his attention to the sky. It was overcast, and gave the impression that a downpour was imminent.
"Ya can come in, if ya so desire," the mongrel abruptly continued. He scooted to the side, making space for the miniscule pussycat in case he wished to squeeze through.
"That's unless ya wanna talk in the rain, which is cool, too."
