poet was a very bad navigator. he had gotten into the town and immediately gotten lost, paws still caked in mud from his initial journey, still feeling weak and like he might faint. it wouldn't be the first time he fainted, but it was never convenient, of course. he knew if he didn't get some rest soon he would faint, so he found a nice brick wall to lean against, letting the coldness of the stone seep past his thick fur. it may be dark but the heat still remained, the mosquitoes still buzzed everywhere, and his mane wasn't long enough to swat them away yet.
letting out a rough growl, he would slowly lower himself to the sidewalk, pressing the side of his face onto the brick and rubbing against it before simply laying his head down. the heat didn't help his exhaustion, and he was sure he had a fever considering how close he was to passing out. today wasn't turning out all too wonderful for the lion, sadly. "swamps.. christ."
