Compared to living a life that was surrounded by fellow animals, RK515 never had that luxury. From the very beginning of its creation, it was made to serve humans and nothing less. Its existence would start and end the same way as the likelihood of the unit being destroyed by an animal was very slim. The programming that it was given made it one of the best android prototype in history, and that meant that it had a lot of money invested into it as well. Being raised by humans solely, meant that it acted more like a human than it did an animal. The scientists that crafted the machine erased any form of instinct long ago, leaving nothing but a blank slate for them to dig their instruments in. There was a concern from the public at the idea of animal experiments, but the project soon fell into the shadows and was soon forgotten about from the public. Once it was created, it went through several fail safes and training sessions to prepare it for working in the field. The first objective that it was ever given was to serve humans and serve the police department that it would be placed in. During the early tests, it was secluded from any other stimuli, meaning that it only ever had contact with technology and humans. It never had the chance to interact with other animals, as it would mostly deal with humans for the majority of its active duty once released. RK515 was the only unit of its kind and was certainly in the earlier stages of androids before the scientists would start thinking about moving to humans later. Everything that the android knew was from the database that it was connected with from where it was from. If it did not have any experience in a specific topic, it would research that topic to find the information that it needed. It was designed to learn and adapt to situations based on actions in the field. This would allow for fewer errors and rely on the AI chip that had been placed into the animals head.
The perfect machine. Maybe that had been the goal for the scientists that created it, but it wasn't allowed to think about whether or not its creators should have changed something about it. In its mind, humans were perfect and it was made to serve them, no matter what sort of treatment it was given. There were several functions for the machine, but the primary function was to protect human life. It was not allowed to deal a lethal blow against a human, but it was allowed to restrain them. After all, it was nearly impossible to work for the K9 unit without attacking a human for the mean of protecting the police officers that were in charge of it. RK515 was also given coding that meant that it would sacrifice itself if it meant protecting a human from a lethal attack. It had no mind of self-preservation when it worked in the city, but now that it could no longer get any replacement parts, it needed to make sure that it wasn't severely damaged in this strange environment. It was capable of conducting small repairs for itself, but if there was a major issue, there was nothing RK515 would be able to do to fix it. Lieutenant Hal also knew some basic mechanic skills, but it wasn't exactly perfect. The Unit RK515 Guide was sealed inside of the K9 vest that the lupine wore, in case any police officer needed to address an issue with the unit after the case was dealt with. RK515 spent approximately 5 years working with the police department, meaning that it had a complete understanding of human emotions and human law. This also meant that it did not have a significant understanding of animals. Its creators made sure that it did not interact with other animals, and RK515 did not have any memory of communicating with another animal. This meant, it did not realize that different species of animals were capable of communicating with each other until recently. Luckily for the android, it was a fast learner and adapted quickly to its environment. There were maybe some instances of the former K9 unit passing another canine in the precinct, but they would not communicate with each other. K9 units were not regular canines compared to that of a pet, and instead were trained animals that were designed for specific jobs. This was one of the reasons why police officers don't let citizens pet K9 units, or at least most of the time.
RK515 did not particularly care for the sand that blanketed the Pitt. The course material continued to get in between the mechanical components of its legs, causing the android to stop constantly and clean out the metal portions of its legs. The former K9 unit also did not know that much about the war between the two groups. When it and Hal first arrived, they were warned about war, but RK515 did not believe that a war between animals was all that serious. It had knowledge of human wars in the past, but animals did not have access to such technology so it was impossible for animals to scale war to that size. The only reason why they were staying in the Pitt, for now, was because RK515 needed to gather information on possible nearby humans in the area. Finding humans was their only chance in returning to their normal life, and RK515 much preferred the presence of humans than animals. Humans were more predictable than animals were, and it did not have the extensive knowledge of animal behavior to properly interact with most animals. The black and silver Eurasian timber wolf was certainly awkward when it came to most interactions, focusing on its objectives rather than casual conversation. It needed to gather data, and it needed to do it as quick as possible. The android stayed mostly near the area of the temples, as it was the most recent discovery of humans in the area, despite that humans no longer made temples as they did in the past. The wolf did stand on in regard to its white metal legs that it sported and its strange white eye. It was making its way back through the jungle of the Pitt territory, after checking the edges of the jungle for any more important information, when it came across a small animal carrying books. Its right mechanical eye immediately began to scan the animal, turning a shade of yellow, that was a couple of feet in front of it.
Species: Domestic Cat
Scientific Name: Felis catus
Breed: Ragdoll
Organism Age: 11 Months ... Sub Adult
Sex: Female
Organism Showing Signs Of Fatigue ..... Organism In Possession Of Books
The books quickly caught the attention of the android. Humans wrote books. No other organism was capable of writing books, or at least to its knowledge. The canine did not seem to be in any hurry to try and help the small domestic cat and seemed to slowly make its way over. It had questions, that was all. It was not capable of feeling any sort of emotion, and this was the reason for the larger creature to help her. Although, it was not all that large, or at least not as large as it could be. As it approached, its mechanical eye returned to its normal blue hue. "Hello, I am Unit RK515. Where have you acquired those books?" It spoke without any emotion. It wore no emotion on its face and seemed to remain incredibly cold despite talking to a child. It stood off to the side, approximately 4ft away from here. As usual, it introduced itself as its programming commanded it to.
