It has been a few days since their choice to stay in the pitt, despite the best logic at leaving- argus was true to their word. When they were helped, they made it their job to help in kind. While they would be healing they would stay and contribute to the clan, and if it meant they got to spent some of their time remembering the flush of pleasant heat on their back while they lived here... well- no one had to know.
No, no one here had to know anything did they? Argus didn't play the same game of clans and politics as leaders or deputies do, much to Pincher's charging. The late Typhoon leader trusted - her, his family trusts her, and really it is their fault for trusting something so fickle as she. Clans will rise and fall in power, and Argus wouldn't bat an eye, argus has broken themselves for a clan and they would not repeat the same mistake- Obscuro died with loyalty in her heart- and when Argus took their place - there was only the burn of the memory to remain.
No, Argus was not loyal to a single thing, they claimed no family but a select few names, no clan to call their own- the Pitt was just a - heh, pitstop. A step in the grand scheme of their life. Now, was a time to settle a base. Something to return to- something to call their own.
It took time scouring the desert for the right place. But a cluster of cacti pointed the direction to a reservoir of groundwater. Argus began digging.
Until the white of their paws was stained equally with clay and blood, until they could stretch their wing out in both directions without the grace of a wall. What could have initially been a fox burrow now expanded to fit the wolf. Soft greens were fitted around the flooring from the jungle until they could find better furs, the walls were empty save a lone dreamcatcher that hung along the entrance. They pulled back from their home with a grams, and settled down in the den, head pocking out to watch the outside world while trying to tie their paws in cobwebs with their teeth.
/ they borrowed a den and their pws are sore + bleeding, but argus is stubborn and is trying to fix it themselves lmao.
