Her words touched him. While he never cared for children, something about her made him feel the need to play guardian. Part of him wanted to say, "tough luck kid". But he was never the sort.
The savagery amongst the youth was enough to show him the direction of the future. Let him be the whip that taught them camaraderie and unity.
"Show me these children someday. They'll learn to not bother you... One way or another.", he smiled softly.
One could deduce that being bullied... She must be lonely. Especially in a place where size, and strength, and cleverness was so key to your position in society. Not to mention brutality.
"I never planned on chasing you off. Are people mean to you Ramona?", his words were kind and curious. Forget his past plan, he suddenly became interested in her welfare.[sub][W]isker[/sub]
