[align=center][div style="width: 450px;; text-align: justify"][size=8pt]Amaranth - and by extension, Edgar - should have been able to trust in her parents, but unbeknownst to her, even her heritage was perilous; both her and Edgar had the spirit of a demon king who once haunted over Roosterteeth, and now it was bequeathed to them. Amaranth didn't have any inkling of the malevolence of the little voice in her head, but at least, in this moment, he was deathly silent.
Amaranth had no clue of his memories of ruling kingdoms and triumphant reigns - she'd never had those flights of fancy. She just wanted to be a simple farmer and a normal girl who stuck with her plants and fell asleep listening to nature's lullaby - and she wasn't going to find that in the Typhoon. It just wasn't going to work. For a brief moment, her thoughts flickered to him - and her air of calmness disappeared, contorting into a brief flicker of pain.
Hearing Kunta speak again, she pushed those thoughts away. Where were you heading. "Anywhere." her answer was fast and immediate - just anywhere but the Typhoon. He asked about the other clans, and she started to look a bit sheepish. "The gist i've gotten is Ascendants are a pushover, Snowbound is like family, you don't want to mess with them, Tanglewood is a bunch of weirdos all following a crazier weirdo, and Typhoon..." she trailed off, and before she could upset herself again, her eyes glazed over. "Cutthroat Pirates. Them and Tanglewood have no care for the lives and... feelings of others. I... honestly couldn't care less about the alliances, but Typhoon and Tanglewood are waging war." she mewed - if anything, her encounter with Beck had been a learning one, but it didn't change the fact that both clans did horrible things and she didn't want to be a part of it.
As he diverted his attention to Khepri, she smiled faintly. "This is Khepri. He helped tend to my plants, so... we became friends pretty quickly." at his name being mentioned, the small hermit crab seemed to puff up his chest a little, flaring his pincers at them both before smugly relaxing in his shell again.
"Speech."
