He doesn’t find her tone disheartening - but then he’s long been used to the strange and the wonderful, the horrific and the monstrous - he is and has been called all those descriptors before after all.

So he merely waits for acceptance or for exile - the latter wouldn’t be a new situation.

[the shadows he mentions are figments of his imagination btw not ghosts just in case you wondered if anyone can see them aside from Arkyn]
