Memories of Darkness, Light of Truth

[Jiyu Simul Stamus]

Jiyu was beyond familiar with nightmares, for several long years she had lived one every single moment of her life and now that she was 'out' those days came back every single damn time she closed her eyes for too long. She was cold, able to hide that truth from others because she was just so used to enduring, but most animals were not like her, Usagi included. Perched on one of the crystals in the middle of a nap she was prompted awake by the restless sleep of her apprentice, mismatched optics focused on the younger animal. How did one aid someone clearly locked within nightmares? Most times it was a matter of waking them but the calico detested doing that, she knew very well that comfort only lasted until the next time sleep became necessary. Thus the vizier solved such problems by invading peoples heads without letting them know what she was doing, quickly moving to do the same with Usagi, closing her empty eyes to stretch her mental abilities.

Front row seat the calico instantly moved to trying to pull a more positive memory to the frontline of Usagi's mind, finding one and deeming her job done. However, things were only alright for a second! When within someone's head like this she had to find a way out too and doing that often caused her to see additional things which were not necessary. The race was on, running around within the younger girls memories trying to find something that didn't ring deja vu, anything that didn't bring up images of herself as a kitten beaten, bleeding, broken and still scared or already vengeful against animals who had nothing to do with it. At some point her twists and turns came across a soothing voice and she grabbed onto that pushing it as hard as she could to the front. While she tried to keep pushing that single memory of Usagi's the calico was still fighting her own battling against remembering the one thing she wanted to remember least, something she wished someone could take from her forever.

A figure suddenly broke through everything, blue eyes so cold they froze whoever they looked at, blue-grey markings so dusty they resemebled the ashes from everything he burned down, slighty off white pelt scattered with drops of blood and sharp fangs opened ready to sieze just as his raised unseathed paw was. Jiyu was swiftly ejected from the others head, the second she saw that image her powers just shut down for a moment, thankful she had been 'asleep' and for Usagi's freak out upon waking up, no one got to see the terrified expression torn across her face.

Stoic once more she spread her wings and lifted her tail letting that allow her to glide when she leaped from the crystal she had been sleeping on. Landing silently she lifted her wings to slightly encase the pair, looking down at Usagi something visible behind her frozen expression for a brief moment. It was too close for comfort but she couldn't back down now, she had never backed down before.
