He can't say whether or not Link would feel better if he knew it all, but Orpheus can guess that he would feel better without that. Instead, he stays up some nights thinking about his family and friends, everyone that he's lost. But Link can't feel things for his memories, and the idea of losing that is.. no, he can't. So maybe he's wrong, maybe it's better to suffer through feeling everything than suffer through losing it and being unsure. At least he has a chance to start again without the pain.
In any case, what he's doing here is meant to distract himself from those thoughts and concerns. Busying himself with dirt was a strange way to make himself focus his thoughts elsewhere, but it's effective. For a moment, he doesn't even notice Link's appearance in the doorway, his paws still smoothing over the dry dirt to pick out anything strange. A few rocks, another bug; standard things. he almost jumps out of his skin when he finally hears him, two-toned eyes widening and then softening suddenly, a quiet, "Oh," leaving him in a breath. Orpheus watches with curiosity as the beetle disappears, brow furrowing. But he doesn't ask — maybe he doesn't want to know. "Hey kiddo," he hums, voice filled with a soft, gentle mirth as the dog draws close to him, "you scared me there." Though he turns back to the dead plant quickly enough, the lion continues to cast glances his way as he formulates some kind of answer. It might be a bit easier if he knew the full question, but that's alright.
"I found some planters in a room," he explains with a shrug. "Someone hadn't been taking great care of them, so I guess that's my job now." His smile is still soft as he tilts his head, gesturing for the dog to come closer. "Wanna help?"
