Ambroise wasn't a Good Samaritan. It was rarely by choice that he'd ever interfered with someone's injuries, because that had been his role, and if he didn't do his job one of the raiders wouldn't have hesitated to cut his throat. He wasn't even a nice or good person period. He didn't really know how to be, after so much time spent around people tearing each other apart over spilled alcohol or suspicions of cheating at cards. Living with highly temperamental, largely immoral -or amoral- assholes was bound to blur things a bit, so when he heard a gasp from a room he was in the middle of passing, he didn't immediately burst in. Even when he smelled blood, he didn't jump into the fray, standing in place to debate with himself, before exhaling a capitulating sigh and shoving his way into the room. There he saw a child, bleeding from protruding horns and a laceration. Head injuries were always bloody.
"I might could help with the bleeding, if you'll let me look at your head." It'd be a bit awkward with the size difference, but he'd at least prefer to make certain the kid wasn't going to lose vision in one eye. Or if they were.
