Even the tropics felt the cool touch of winter. Not in such a drastic way as places farther north or south perhaps. The massive wolf recalled white puffs of air and the fragrance of chocolate. Mother had loved chocolate very dearly, especially in the colder months. Those days were long past. It did little to hold onto them after so many years, though since the arrival of his nephews, his thoughts often wandered towards his late mother. He hoped the two boys never had to lose a parent. He hoped their poor half-sister learned to hold onto her fathers rather than wish too dearly for her own mother who had passed as well.
The faerie knew better than to hold onto the fragility of life, but he had always a soft spot for the wonder of it all. A religious man with a passion for nurturing life, no one ought to be surprised his paws oft carried him towards the jungle temple whenever he wandered away from his books, daughter or studious niece. "Dia dhuit, child," he offered warmly.
His sea-green eyes gleamed softly, happily as though seeing someone else enjoy the winter flowers made him happy. Quietly, he sat, quite content in this place, mind resting on the way even flowers found their way throughout the seasons, whether through thriving unexpectedly or resting in wait.
