Survival is the only thing that drives the male. The idea of a life filled with more than this - both greater and much, much worse remains within his mind, but it does not dominate his ideas now. He has starved, and he has stuffed. He knew pain and fear, and the lowest lows that could ever be, along with happiness and hope, and the highest highs. But, now, they are only experiences that help guide him to know how to react in different circumstances. He knows more than his instincts, but his instincts will still, ultimately, dictate his actions. One thing, though, that he must fight against his instincts for is the fact that he is residing within some sort of group. This means he must at least attempt to be useful, for staying within their lands. Previously, he would remain solitary, and he still tries, but it is harder in this confined space. But, there is reason, and that reason overtakes his habitual isolation. They have a large supply of food, water, and protection, and this is what is most important to the beast. These are the keys to survival.

The Siberian tiger went out for food once more, perhaps to help collect some, even. He never took prey from others, though. It is important he catches his own. He can understand to avoid those awful traps that were scattered around the lands, too, now. They may help others to catch food, but he does not enjoy the idea of having to wait for his prey to fall into a net or snare. He'd rather catch it physically, himself. Besides, he does not wish to be entangled once more. And, he is able to do this successfully, learning the ways of these forested, muddy lands. He is able to adapt and hunt on his own more and more efficient, each time he goes out.

The beast lays beside a wild boar he has recently taken down, huffing quietly as he rests, planning to soon drag it into a more private bush and eat it. It is a much larger meal compared to the rabbit he'd caught before, and he was glad to have gotten it, tail twitching back and forth.
