It was just a coincidence that Eddie had been out hunting at the same time as Kliment. Perhaps because Eddie spent a lot of time not spent with his fucked up groupmates hunting. Venom was, more often than not, hungry. Eddie was already used to indulging his Other when he was -- it's not like it was hard to find feral creatures to eat, thank god. After the initial incident that ended up with Eddie getting kicked out of his old group, Venom had, only a little reluctantly, agreed to avoid sentient animals. UNLESS THEY'RE HURTING US, They'd decided, and didn't let Eddie argue.
.. Seeing somebody eat something the same way Venom ate stuff was a little jarring. Maybe because it involved more tongue than Venom used, and didn't that sound bad out of context. Venom is curled somewhat warily in his chest, and Eddie is shivering in the tree. Not because of Kliment -- they'd done worse, and seen worse, but simply because of the height. Venom had abandoned him there just a few minutes ago, and Eddie had been shakily climbing through the jungle's branches when he came upon the creature below.
..
Eddie didn't even know how to get down to confront them. Theoretically, he should. In practice? Well, Eddie had an incident when he was young and learning to climb, and he never learned. Was too scared to. As such, it's a minute of the raccoon fumbling before Venom groans something insulting out and takes pity on him, the crocodile's sharp claws morphing as he swings the messy-furred Guard gracelessly onto the floor.
For a second, he just lays there, a little dazed, a little relived, before Eddie straightens up to eye the creature Venom was so warily regarding. He'd like to yell at his bodymate for just leaving him there, but he generally doesn't talk to them in front of people.
"So," Eddie clears his throat and fumbles, uncertain of what to say. He's not terribly put off by the stranger eating somebody, even if he is just a little pissed they're doing it on their territory. What if the person was a groupmate, or sapient? He hadn't managed to get a good look at them from so high up, and with so little time to see. "Who the hell did you just eat?" He says, after an awkward moment of silence. Venom snorts at him, unimpressed. It was a pretty shitty question, Eddie would give himself that. Like, who the hell would remember who they ate? ".. Uh, whatever. Who are you, and what're you doing here?" The raccoon straightens up. He's not as concerned as he probably should be, given that they just ate somebody whole in front of him -- below him. He doesn't tend to feel more than nervous with Venom constantly reassuring him, which was a little sad to Eddie, what with how hard he tried to not trust or even like his bodymate.
