The wind had rain had been going steady now, a constant downpour that begged for others to just stay inside and endure it. The water was rising now and it was only a matter of time before they had to evacuate and move further inland. They had to before things got too bad. They had too. The Helion couldn't stay inside, she had to make sure that everyone else was safe especially after what happened to both Bex and Bucky. Water sloshed against her leg as she patrolled the area, eyes shifting and squinting as water ran down her face in little streams. The wind threatened to push her down to the ground, whipping her fur haphazardly all over the place but she remained as calm as she could. Even with potted plants rolling across the ground and the sound of things falling and breaking surrounded her. Her body was tense as she paused to look toward the homes that were being harshly pounded by the rain that was falling all around them. Jaws clenching she turned her gaze away and she figured she ought to turn in herself. It was pointless to keep this up and she might end up catching a cold, something she was rather afraid of considering her last experience with a cold.
Sighing, water dripped from her jowls but she made no move to do anything more as a strange sound lifted up into the air. A groaning followed by a cracking sound as if something was slowly breaking and shifting. Wood and metal grinding against each other and her ears perked up. Her heart began to pound in her chest as she followed the sound as quickly as she could with water slowing her pace down quite a bit. And when she arrive upon the scene she realized that the sound was coming from her own home. The water had been wearing at the wood underneath the boardwalk that had been holding up the edge of where her home had been sitting. Frankly she didn't know how old the wood was but it seemed it had grown tired with age, no longer able to fight against the force of water and it just gave.
The woman watched with wide eyes as the boardwalk gave, her home crying and groaning as if in pain as it tore itself apart from it's own weight leaning to the side. It cracked and splintered, shingles shifting and breaking as they fell the ground. Walls tearing themselves a part in sharp breaks that yawned open like sharp and jagged teeth. Her breath caught in her throat as pieces of her house fell into the harshly rushing river, sending up waves of water that splashed against her form and knocked her clear off her paws and yet she didn't make a sound as she was thrown across the boardwalk even as the water receded and pieces of her house floated by. What was left was a gaping hole where the corner of the boardwalk had been and where a home had once stood. The boardwalk itself was still groaning as if it might break once more and the Helion breathed out harshly, water stinging her eyes as she struggled to push herself to her paws. She couldn't even bring herself to move as wood splintered across the area near her. All she was thinking was if they were being punished for something? Were they wrong about everything? Why was this happening?
