She seemed to have been granted a rare moment of introspection and, because it was a gift that often eluded her, decided to revel in her own thoughts, peace blooming like a small flower within her chest. But she had still yet to convince herself that all of this - the Ascendants, her new title of Astral Seraph, Meredith's thunderous arrival - was not some elaborate practical joke woven by either her grandmother or her divine goddess, and expected the pinch that would surely deliver her back to her own demented reality any minute now. Suddenly, she'd rise, self-created anticipation disturbing the delicate reverie that she had believed would last longer than a few fleeting moments. Her head pounded in response.
It had been days since her body began to settle and yet the pain had not dulled. She had pretty much gotten used to it now, learning to live alongside the relentless aches that plagued her body. It'd subside soon enough, as would the other feelings she seemed to generate by herself. All of this - all of this - would eventually settle and then... then, she'd be free to enjoy herself for a little while and not have to worry about the implications of her life. But for now, she had to move. Distractions were the only way to keep her mind off of the pain as her soul was silently ripped apart and recreated, and a low rumble in her stomach made the perfect excuse for her to turn her attention to.
Agathe was nothing more than a flash of red as she raced through the territory, the foliage alive with the vivid sights and smells of potential prey. Nothing was quite big enough for her, not yet anyways, and so she continued to move until her stomach demanded that she eat something - anything - now. The familiar earthy scent of a rabbit rose up to meet her almost immediately and a ravenous gleam took to dancing within her golden gaze as she dropped to a crouch and silently, ever so silently, stalked it. It had no time to react before she was gracefully pouncing upon it, its neck snapping with a quick bite from her jaws. She would have torn into the creature had another scent not caught her attention, a frown blossoming on her black lips as she realized who was so close to her. "I hope you didn't have your sights set on this rabbit," Agathe called out, "Because I am so ridiculously hungry right now."
