More often than not, he was the one to put others in cages and bound them to a single spot with uncomfortable chains. He was the one who took his time, gingerly breaking down his prey's mental, physical and emotional state. The weak were placed in this world to be ruled over and Ren was their King. Everywhere he looked made his stomach churn and flip. The inside of his mouth grew dry as the pain in his head got harder to ignore. Biting down on his bottom lip, the demon casual gait concealed the sense of urgency and panic welling up inside of him. Was... Was it getting hotter? The sun was setting so it shouldn't be getting so bright. He stopped in his tracks to lift a large paw up to his face, doing his best to collect himself. He wanted nothing more than to find Delilah and get out of here. Delilah... He hoped she was alright. He wasn't sure what he'd do if he found she was hurt or barely hanging onto life overall. For every scrape or bruise on her fur, he was going to kill someone. Kill, he thought, feeling more nauseated than before. He cared deeply about the medic, but could he kill someone for her? Part of him screamed yes and scolded him for thinking such a stupid question. There wasn't anything in this world or others that he wouldn't do for her. It seems sneaking into enemy territory to rescue her despite the raging headache that threatens to knock him unconscious wasn't enough to convince him. But there was always that doubtful part of him. The fear of reverting back to his old self. He wanted to become a better person for Delilah, to be someone worthy of her time. If he's just going to throw that all away for the sake of one instant, then he was more immature than he thought.
As the wildcat walked through camp, internally struggling in silence, a soft voice broke his trance. Happiness and fear rippled through him when he turned his head, familiar pastel pink fur on the opposite side of camp was like the light at the end of the tunnel. Despite the distance between them, Ren could see her clearly and his heart instantly shattered. What was left was overwhelming anger that radiated off of him. Inhaling a shaky breath, he clenched his jaw as he stalked over to her, desperately trying to hold himself together. As much as he wanted to scoop her up in his arms and run, he needed to go about this slowly. "De-Deli-" he choked, unable to get her name out before nearly collapsing at her paws. He was fuming, but he was also beyond happy she was alive. "Del- I-I... Sorry... I w-was not... Protect you... I..." He stammered, struggling to apologize as his eyes grew watery. No, that was for later. Right now, he needed to ficus on getting her out of there. Wiping his eyes, he attempted to take the chains off of her. "We are leaving." He rumbled, muttering something about killing everyone and going down a lists of torture methods he'd like to try out on her captors.
