Frankly, Gwen had no idea what Haloween was before she came to the Rosebloods. What was it? It was different with everyone she asked! "A time to celebrate the wicked and unknown!" one had told her. "It's an outdated holiday to scare away spirits buy dressing up in fun costumes. It's mostly just for parties now. I'm going as a vampire!" Said another. "Meh. It's just an excuse to get people to buy candy to give it out to kids" Said the last. Well... Whatever it was, Gwen enjoyed it! There were so many different costumes and friendly faces! It was so strange yet so enthralling! It was... it was... So cool!
The young jay quickly dashed across the beach to the typhoon's border, a wide smile stretched across her beak. She sprinted over pebbles and twigs, her legs pushing against the wet sand, propelling her forward in long, floaty strides. Gwen, herself, was dressed up with a little wirey halo above her head. Little golden bands were cuffed around her talons. Her wings were covered in a weird cottony substance, giving them a soft white poof to them (it was not like she was using them yet, anyways). The bird skidded to a stop, dropping her small pumpkin bucket in front of her. The bird's bright blue eyes blinked before she turned to the lion slowly, but surely, following behind her. He was soooo far away! Gwen tilted her head. He'd catch up.
The Magpie-Jay turned back to the shore, ruffling her feathers. She had been told not to cross this line but... Would anyone even hear her from all the way out here? She... thought she could make out the silhouette of a boat, barely lit on the shore's horizon, but... it was just so far away. She took one small step over the invisible border, her talon testing the wet sand below. It made an imprint before she pulled her foot away, too afraid to break any rules (they were there for a reason, right?). Gwendoline blinked before air drowned her lungs. She puffed up her chest before crying out: Trick or treat!
