He can't say he's ever really been in the Halloween spirit for October. He thought the event to be a stupid excuse to dress up and egg the houses of unsuspecting victims. To put it simply, the event felt too childish to the blacksmith. When he himself had been younger, his mind was always elsewhere. He was interested in becoming the perfect combative weapon, to develop himself to be more than he needed to be. Fun and games were all in the matter of becoming better. He simply never saw Halloween to ever really fit. The only times he would find himself dressing up or trick or treating was in the spirit of competitiveness, his desire to win and crush everyone beneath him. It was one of his most cherished things to do because it made him feel envied by others which was always an awful boost to his self-esteem. With all competition put aside, October had always been a normal month for him aside from the occasional and annoying attempts of others trying to urge him to join the indulgences of others when it came to the season. It came and it went the same way its spirit did.
But in this world, it seems that Halloween had manifested and rooted itself into a more literal fashion. There were ghosts, spectral creatures floating about. It was that one night, he remembered, where things went horribly. He overused his powers, unable to stay conscious and in the midst of chaos. Then, with other events erupting (events he didn't really want to keep thinking about), he was ready for his own kind of mischief because when CC approached him, asking if he could sew the child a spider costume, he mysteriously obliged. He knows CC to be attached to Goldenluxury and, being quite an unfair Reaver, he was willing to do so for free. It let him practice his earth elementals because he found metal to be more difficult to control than stone and rocks. He had to remind himself of the flow of electrons, the particles that joined together to create the thin prick. He thought of it as training while also attempting to create something as convincing as possible. It was yet another challenge for him to try and perfect. But his main reason for attempting to sew the child a spider costume was rather simple: to prank.
During those days, he noticed CC had the tendency to hang around his forge. He wasn't sure if it was because the asian golden cat liked watching him work, was impatiently waiting for him to finish, or happened to like the heat of his fireplace. He didn't complain however because it left the child to be easy access for him to frequently test the size of the costume, step back and note where he could improve and what to admire. There was a good number of times where he would accidentally curse in annoyance, having to backtrack in his steps because weaving the metal in the air was difficult when he was unable to also mentally control the strings he was using. Nevertheless, he coped until he was done, finally fitting it over CC and glossing his eyes over the furry, cinnamon details. The colour was slightly off but from a distance it looked fairly believable. He even gave off one of his rare smiles when he finished, noticing that his ears had heated up when CC gratefully said 'thank you'. Appreciation. It wasn't something he usually came across. Normally it was 'congratulations', such as 'congratulations for winning' or something along those lines because he was obsessed with success. This time, however, he found that appreciation made him feel...relieved.
As soon as the child had thanked him, he watches them scurry off in the costume, sanguine eyes following the giant spider's form as they eventually began to shrink with increasing distance. His favourite part of his work, he thinks, were the legs. They were the parts he had paid the most attention to, thinking them to be the most frightening aspect of an arachnid. Still, he hasn't the faintest of ideas why the child was so willing to run about as a spider. He never thought CC as the mischievous type. Then again, he didn't think much of CC other than the child who stuck around Goldenluxury. Deciding he didn't want to miss out on the shenanigans that would insue, teleports beneath the shade of a palm tree, sitting down and watching the scenery. He was anticipating all sorts of reactions, ready to quietly watch and see if anyone would terrified through a series of side glances, pretending not to notice the giant spider.
