With time the idea of such had warmed, given a slight touch of something pleasant though never had they allowed the word to find purchase upon lips, scoffing when the thought broke the calm surface of their mind. Growing accustomed to a place, finding some sense of peace within, was by no means a need to deem it a home. Yet there it lingered, caught at the back of their throat, wanting only to be spoken though it was likely only ever to be done so once.
By no means were they so greatly attached they cared not to wander, however, enjoying the cooling weather. Watching the change of seasons instilled something, a quiet murmur of unease beneath what was once a steady flow of nothing more than faint contentment, comfortable enough to begin growing lax. Troubles with those contained in the structure of the observatory set not an overly great distance away had unsettled many though it had taken further time to touch the fox, uncaring to the plight of those around them. Still they took their work somewhat seriously when it came to them to do so, walking the barriers that had been risen.
A great many seemed not to care for such and found some way in, though easy was it when the gate stood open in the wake of a recent patrol, the ungulate permitted easy access. There seemed no trouble within such, the actions of the herbivore in line with those deemed feral upon this world though merely lacked the intelligence of the wide number of animals that had gained sentience, acting on impulse for there was nothing else. Brief was the hesitance of a single step, paw hovering above the earth as they watched the elk, startled by something.
“Hmm,” from pursed lips the sound rose as the body seemed to shrink, within the place of the ungulate nothing more than a feline, silver hue to it marred by patterning of a darker tone. Dark eyes moved over it as Esma continued their approach, faint memory drawn forth though the two held no real interaction, but passing the other as they went about daily tasks. “You are on Sunhaven land, if you do not have business I must ask you to leave.” Edge to the words, raising through clenched teeth. Might the actions of the elk been nothing more than a ploy, a way to get in that had backfired in some fashion, or might it have been the mind of this man was lost, entangled within the feral base. Either way they cared not to linger on it long, eyes narrowing as they awaited an answer.
