but he knew they wouldn't want him to live so morose - and the mortals with their finite lives he considered precious friends or family, well he chose to live in the moment for them.

like today - today he'd be taking his newfound feathered children flying, or well, if they so agreed.

he shifted on the outcropping of rocks, just above his cave they jutted upwards, a perfect perch and a perfect place to lift off more easily than just straight from the ground up - and for his children he wanted the flight to be an experience with less hitches, so an updraft that would lift him easier than gaining altitude himself would be a more preferable and smoother ride than otherwise.

he sighs, closing his eye - the red will forever remain staring, a scar in itself and a window into the madness of his sire - and sighing into the air before gazes back out onto the view of the bay below him, he shifts on his claws and calls for them, an surprisingly good rendition of such a call they can produce

but then his sister had taken their form - albeit much larger - and they're family were so old, so ancient, they knew languages like their own aspect and soul.

ah, he hadn't enjoyed a simple flight for the pleasure of it in a very long while and to show his earthbound children such would be a joy.
