marketplaces alive, streets bustling and the sights and sounds of sunhaveners enjoying the last dreads of warmth before the harsh winter came rolling in. parents keeping a watchful eye on their children as they were drawn to the scents of mouth-watering treats - something about the sight made venus' insides churn. it made them fidgety, antsy. the silvery teen's head hung uncharacteristically low, eyes off the various unique items for sale at the marketplace as venus forwent the festivities. instead finding themselves just wandering. nowhere in particular.
waves crashing into each other provided the somber background music to venus' teenage angst-filled moment of silence, eyes reflective in shades of the ocean gazing out along the wharf beside the townhouses. for a short-lived moment the kitsune huffed right into their legs sprawled out along the boardwalk's fence, gazing out to the ocean's familiar churning until the sound of a resident arriving back home came from behind venus. it made long ears swivel, sapphire hues blink once, twice in bewilderment. sourly the sunhavener tried arduously to ignore the man, ears lain flat to counter even the sounds of his breath and the long drags of the camel. what venus couldn't ignore was the drifting of smoke, carried down by the wind to fill their nostrils and mouth with a displeasing taste. gross. "the scent of death doesn't mix well with the sea breeze you know." hisses of vehement disgust escaped from venus, their sapphire gaze still locked on to the ocean's view. only talking to jersey without giving him the common respect of eye contact. "but i think if you keep smoking those, maybe you'll soon be buried too deep underground to spoil my day. or you'll be pecked apart by the birds."
