Clear was it none had expected such an answer to arise, though more a story was it, spun expertly though lips drew away from the curve of teeth when she spoke a particular word – human-man-creature. Was such what all gathered about the assorted gourds thought their people, nothing but another oddity, a creature spoken within hushed tones. But then had their own tales, told when they had been tucked into the warmth of their bed, not been fantastical, containing animals so like the ones here who spoke within their own tongue. The flip upon such a tradition should not have been a shock, rather more an expected thing, merely another they waited to arise, but still was it.

Over the hard skin they ran their paws, claws unable to do anything to it, rind too thick for such blunt instruments to pierce, wondering for a brief moment on how to begin.
