Home was where the heart was, some would say. But to a lot home was where family was, where familiarity was. That was what brought her here, back home. Because of family and friends and even perhaps her heart had long ago sunken into Sunhaven that there would be no other place for her to go. Love. It could be a fickle thing, a slow burning thing, or a blazing passion that never let go. Warm. Yes, she could say that she did have a love for Sunhaven and one she was keen on keeping alive for as long as possible. For Jericho, for Stella, for Ishayu, for Pierce and everyone. Her friends she had made here under the guise of someone she was not because she couldn't take the notion of other's finding out and looking at her with disgust. The terrible creature she had been forced to mutate and show the world what she truly was. But they had accepted her strange mutations and now could they accept whom she really was? The idea had bee one that she had long since boiled over in her mind even before the curse had been lifted. Even now she walked slowly through down, almost sluggishly, thick claws scrapping against hard and worn wood that supported member after member of those looking to find kinship in Sunhaven.
She had not long left the village until she heard something strange. Talking, the words dripping with veil thinned hatred, like a clogging toxic that hung in the air. It was those tones back and forth that caused the large canine to make her way forward to investigate. Her body moved, thick muscles rippling beneath a pelt of coffee cream and swirls of cocoa as her piercing green eyes shifted over the lay of the land. Where had it been coming from? Who had been speaking with such ill intent? Her ears pulled forward and she paused for a moment to listen, urging her ears to pick up any sound. Then a voice spoke. Nila. Her body moved once more, cresting the hill and peering down at the beach full of soft sands that pressed against her thickly claws paw. At first she was confused about she saw, not understanding this foreign cougar's appearance here. But as she looked on her gaze narrowed and she saw he was doing something, holding down someone's head into the murky depths of the drink. Recognition hit her hard and a gasp left her throat, a cry pulling up from deep within and shuddering her vocal cords. "Ma!" The word progressed into a vicious growling snarl as blood pumped in her ears.
Her heart hammered against her ribcage as she bolted. There was no restraint and no reserve. Even if she hadn't fought in this body before she wouldn't allow for this, this thing to kill her. She couldn't. He wouldn't take that security from her, the warmth of being safe and unafraid of the world. Her massive form was upon the cougar, paws skidding and throwing up sand into the air. One paw, vastly larger than any canine could hope to achieve in life slammed against his flank, splitting skin and bursting blood against the sand to force him to the side. "Get off of her! I'll feed ya ya innards!" Voice a howl of rage as teeth came shortly to puncture skin at the back of his throat and pull him away, throwing the beast against the sand where her paw shoved down hard against the cougar's throat. That strange searing desire to tear out his throat surged forth and pale stained lips pulled back to reveal pink stained teeth, blood stained saliva dripping from the corners of her muzzle. She wanted to. So badly.
