He was a bad person- and the thoughts that sometimes pushed their way forward in his mind reminded him of how terrible he still is. Thoughts of bloodshed and broken bones at the slightest inconveniences would be joined with warning growls and hisses. He despised that part of himself more than anything in this world. He hated how swift he was to anger or violence when the situation didn't need it. He hated how his patience ran thin at the most random moments and how cold he could be without realizing it until it was too late. It was hard, changing, and he was starting to grow weary of himself. Starting to grow weary of constantly being on guard around others as to not lash out or say something rude. However, there is a light at the end of the tunnel and he knew this because of how he'd feel afterwards: remorse. He hated that part of him and knew he had to do something about it. Taking this fact and clutching it close to his heart, Ren slowly began shift. Granted, it's not a huge change and he still very much gets upset, just the same as before. But this time, he catches himself mid-outburst or after and makes sure to apologize for it. Especially if it's unnecessary. It was a small step on a long journey, but he had to start somewhere.
The heavily-scarred lynx didn't get cravings, a symptom of not needing to eat to survive he suppose. But he figured he could grab a bite to eat for the heck of it. It's been a good while since he ate anything and he missed tasting the various flavours of tasty foods. Plus, it wasn't often that he visited the mess hall and he was curious. Upon entering, his attention was instantly snatched away by Leroy's invite in what Ren can only assumed was a game. Dull red eyes flashed curiously, giving light to a stoic expression as he stalked over to him. Cards, he observed, staring down at the deck. He stood there for a moment, as if contemplating whether or not he should participate. With a shrug of his broad shoulders, the demon sat himself down and gave a nod to the canine, silently agreeing to play. "What game do you have in mind?"
