He just didn't feel comfortable around the others that he still saw as higher than himself. It was strange being free and given such freedoms. Before he wouldn't have lifted a paw against anyone because they were masters, better than himself. He couldn't. They knew that he couldn't. But now that he was free he had the ability to look after himself. To make sure he was never again a slave, and never again beaten down as he had once been before. Still, it was frightening but his goal was to look after himself. Only himself. He didn't see a reason to not do whatever he could to protect himself and his interests. Quill was a main interest of his but then so was Sven whom he had brought in to be a slave. The idea that he had done this sickened him and he hoped that the other was doing okay. But his actions were a means to an end. A jagged sigh left his throat as he walked along the desert wastelands that the others called home. He missed the oasis as it had a lot more going for it but they had to move because of recent events. Though he often visited the jungle considering it wasn't that far away he found himself now in some shrubland. Short grass that seemed dead to the world around him because of the intense heat it bared throughout the day.
Small cacti with long spines grew in clumps and the aroma of what they held lifted up into his nostrils. It was a fruity smell and he allowed his eyes to sweep over the large dark purple fruits that grew on the tops of the plant. Hmm. Maybe he could do something with them? It was a good thing he had brought his bag with him and he began to pick them. It was rather complicated to not get poked and prodded but he managed to grab quite a bit of fruit to take back with him and as he neared the fortress he paused outside to look at it. Imposing and strong, well build and structured for defense if need be. Was this what Esklav saw in this place? He hadn't figured out how the male thought but he didn't waste his time and instead he entered before setting up his little place. Half of the fruit was set aside and he got some water and clay. Mashing and mixing up the dark pigment of the purple fruit made quite a mess but he was pleased with the result of it. The purple dye like paste was a pretty color and he wondered who would want to have their pelt painted. "Anyone want their pelts decorated?" Or they could just eat some of the fruit, or do something with the spines who knew.
