She was fully healed by now, all prior injuries were closed and fused back, in the case of her broken leg. She was fine now, she was arguably healthy. So why did she still get so bothered by them? Arrow always thought you got injured, healed, and then let the emotional pain from it fade away with the physical. But it didn't. It didn't go away and she felt guilty because of it. Surely everyone here had gone through worse, Stocking had gotten thrown out of paradise of all things, Delilah lost her entire leg after a life's worth of trauma, Arrow was fine by Tanglewood's standards. But here she was, pathetically thrashing about in her own self centered emotions about her capture and subsequent torture.
They did care about her, didn't they? She wasn't...useless, right? She held her head in her paws, curled up on the ground on the edge of town, nothing there but her and a half empty bottle of alcohol she'd scrounged around for. It tasted bitter. "Then why'd you get captured at all?" That little voice constantly in the back of her mind was much louder when she was alone, now, would have spat on her if it was a separate being. She subconsciously extended her claws, which gripped into the thin flesh of her face, little pinpricks of pain that went completely unnoticed.
She felt her leg burn, phantom pains that hadn't given her any time to rest. They were always waiting there for her, one past thought to the event and the pain came right back, throwing her off completely. It almost hurt more than the actual injury, at least then she was in shock, her mind was elsewhere.
"You're no use here. They keep you around in pity. They would have been fine leaving you behind."
Small droplets of blood slid down her skin from where she was seriously digging her claws into her face, right above the eyes, flinching when a small bit of the scarlet liquid got into one of them, burning and causing her eye to water in response. She could still feel that gross, gross tongue on her skin, even now, even here. It was wet, it...it was warm, it...She pulled on the skin too hard, slicing through it until she was left with decent superficial cuts around her eyes. Her leg burned with such violent intensity, she'd had enough.
They would feed her to the alligators any day now, once Morgan and Vigenere realized there was nothing left in this disgusting body.
