life often pondered at it own existence, the brain named itself, all these thoughts were so meta. they were honestly fascinating - but they often left the small kitten with a headache. not in some philosophical manner like aristotle or decartes. more like someone on a high, or extremely sleep deprived. those were the kinds of thoughts arduously keeping linux up at night. staring at the creamy white roof, glow in the dark stars stuck up there and slowly turning fluorescent. so pretty. and as the star stickers shone dimly, the kitten's dusty pink eyes were closing millimeter by millimeter as the milky child struggled to keep awake as the real stars shone outside.
the first thing that made the munchkin kitten notice something wasn't quite right was the appearance of the roof; distinctively not linux's roof. odd. in a confused daze the kitten tried to get up and see if she could figure out why and how she had ended up in someone else's hut. tried - because when linux moved muscles too long and lanky for a muchkin cat to have, it was as if another force was pressing down on her. in a sudden shock of what horrible feeling it was, linux just let her foreign body simply do what it wanted and lay back down again. but even that position hurt. what the hell was going on?
shifting to her side, linux's pink gaze got a much better view of the room at this angle and so much more could be learnt from this advantage point. for starters, this was goldie's room, and this arms attached to linux's body were also goldie's. linux was in goldie's body. this was insane. bonkers. surely linux couldn't actually be in goldenluxury's body, because then where would her cousin's consciousness be? in her own snow-white body? no, this just had to be all one giant fever dream that linux would awake from soon enough. soon enough that linux could go back to actually walking and moving without this constant dull pain. but this was surely a dream, surely no one could actually live like this. just a product of the dream.
pushing through the agony for the sake of progression, linux managed to grunt her way into an upright position before trying to jump off the bed. the child found it easier to use the things around her to lean on and make her way out of the hut, not caring exactly how many things she had to knock over to get to the door.
outside was just a little bit better linux supposed. in this body the kitten found she felt much taller and powerful, but the sun hurt her eyes and being in a body with normal sized legs felt so weird. it was as if the kitten was walking on stilts - which was fun she supposed. the feeling made the child want to run, but everything about goldie's body said no to that idea, so instead the kitten simply waddled on over to the form of marcellus. who was calling for himself? odd. then he started to call for baku. instinctively eye rolling at the boy's name, linux waddled right on over to the cheetah to see if he would help the kitten make it out of the dream. "what's so damn important to tell him that you can't just go find him, instead of shouting down everyone's ears? you're giving me such a headache." snapping at the cheetah, linux truly was in the mindset that this was all a fever dream - but the pain felt real and honestly just wanted "marcellus" to stop shouting.
