[align=center][div style="width: 51%; text-align: justify; font-size: 10pt; letter-spacing: 0px; font-family: verdana;"]There were a lot of scary things Gabriel had seen in his many years of being alive. He'd been there when his older brother Serpentine had eaten a kitten in front of a group they'd taken over, witnessed the most horrendous displays of decapitation, and even watched once as someone got their heart cut out in ritual punishment. He thought he'd seen it all. But apparently, he was most definitely wrong. Seeing Blacktide molt really took the cake.
Poor Gabriel had just been wandering around, being nosy as per usual post-smoking session. Only remnants of his first high of the day remained as he'd entered the pyramid he'd neglected to poke around inside of. But a noise down a fork in the hallways caught in his long servalline ears. He blinked once, twice, thrice into the darkness before deciding to head in that direction. Of course, nothing could really prepare him for what he was going to see.
Xenomorphs already gave Gabriel chills, but he was mostly okay with Blacktide being one of them. He didn't scare him. At least, he used to not scare him. Through what little he could make out in the shadows, he could see spines upon spines, teeth, and shiny residue on his black skin. He flinched visibly when the alien let out a roar, sinking back slightly. After a moment of silence and fear-swallowing, Gabriel willed himself to speak: "Blacktide?" Before mentally beating himself over the head as he remembered the creature was mostly feral.
