"we need to find a way to get rid of the pitt."
'i thought you'd never ask,' the voice dwelling within nui's mind intoned with a slow, intrigued purr. the cat that got the cream. it was much, much more than she could handle at the moment. atbash was finally to take action, and soon everything she wanted and more would become a reality. her stomach gurgled at the prospect. many weeks, her jaws had itched for savory flesh and merciless comeuppance. her prayers were to be answered.
the polarheart was pleased; pleased as punch at the prospect that she alone had been singled out to find a way to tear the unfortunate blemish that was the pitt from their home (a wise choice, atbash made, confiding in her). their antics had gotten tiring; their hostility laughable. the polarheart was prone to getting bored exceedingly fast; prone to becoming displeased with those who failed to pose any new conflict. she had seen the same scenarios; more than she could count on her slim little digits. when it became abundantly clear that the pitt had nothing new to offer to the table, the girl decided, very much, that she was exhausted of the trash. they did the same things many others had done before them, yet bore different masks.
"we have the advantage of numbers on our side, but that alone won't cut it," she allows herself to feign thought for a brief moment, smoothing moist fur addled with droplets from her latest hunt with an elegant paw, and then speaking once more for affect. "best bet is to throw them in for a loophole. they don't know the territory as well as we do. why not use that to our advantage?"
their terrain is an excellent cover that gives them an advantage; it is a place that allows for many mishaps towards those who are not closely acquainted with the merciless terrain around them, as mundane and soft as they think it to be. the inhabitants of the snow bound lands were soft, but it's terrain? less so. frigid ice snapped warmth and energy from the veins, giving way to starved bellies and cracking, frozen limbs. pounds of what appeared to be sturdy snow would be a wolf in disguise; revealed to be weak frost to easily crunch underneath feet and give away to a lethal trap below. discovered until far too late.
the possibilities were endless, and nui had no issue subjecting the pittians to such scheming plans.
"you know... stryker has made a show of using your life as leverage to prevent us fighting back, but he's allowed you to walk free without constant surveillance and has not thought twice of it. we could make him regret that mistake by shrouding you in our protection at a moment's notice. he'll have nothing to fall on then."
