Cosette liked her name, although she didn't know it's origins. It just sounded fancy to her as someone who didn't know how to read or write. Her mother hadn't, either, as she had spent her whole life serving. But she did like to look at the pictures in books. All the words looked like a jumbled mess to her, so she just flipped through and tried to get the story through the images they offered. She didn't tell anyone, of course; none asked, and she never told. Maybe that was why she felt uneasy at the idea of sticking around with him, unsure if he would end up asking her a question and she would give the wrong answer. She did that often.
"Yeah. People are scary that way," she nods, thinking back to all the many times people had gotten angry with her. It was never pretty, so she just shook off the memories, instead focusing on the handsome curve of Benny's lips. She knew she probably shouldn't, but she did think he was attractive. Yes man may not like him, but she didn't see what was so bad about him.
At his offer to go sight-seeing, the serval would pause, unsure. She liked him, but she also didn't want to get lost or scare him off when she told him too much. None had ever treated her like this, and she didn't want to ruin it by running her mouth when she got comfortable. "O-Okay, sure. Lead the way, then," with that, she stands up, casting one last glance out towards the water before turning back and waiting for his lead.
