his lips parted to make a soft 'ooh' sound as she said her name and nodded. "cosette! should'a known it would've been more beautiful than i could imagine." the words slipped easily from his maw. he was half genuine, and half impulsively flirting. a bad habit it was for him, but at least some truth was there. he had never met a cosette before, though really only saw the name in some parts of old literature that got left behind in abandoned houses.

he wasn't much of a reader or writer, though. his mother made sure to teach him the skills but there were really no other sources of writing material back then other than in the sand.

"oh, that little rumble? don't worry about it." benny let the bitter taste of memory show in his face, but he quickly shook her head with a sigh. "just glad to still be in one piece. i mean, that old fella yes man seemed pretty head on about gettin' me torn apart." he spoke in attempts to further clear his name with whatever the ardent might have told anyone about the fox. "i get sometimes anger makes ya a little irrational."

though, the topic of yes man was not one he wanted to stay on. especially not with a pretty lady on front of him. "anyhow. i haven't been here long, how do you feel about goin' on a walk with me if you don't wanna stick around the lake? sight seeing with a partner is much more satisfying, if you ask me."
