Loneliness wasn't a foreign concept to her. If anything, she was close friends with it. She was always surrounded with people, but she still felt alone without anyone she truly cared for. Her brother, who she barely even remembered, had been taken away from them a long time ago, and it wasn't long before she was also taken from her mother. Being so young, it was scary, but it didn't take her long to realize her harsh new reality.
She was somewhat surprised that he wanted her to stick around, being used to having others shoo her away and such. Being a slave often meant she didn't speak or socialize much, even if it was with someone else with the same status. Besides always being ordered to be silent, she was naturally a quiet person, so being the one chosen to keep someone company was definitely new to her. Still, she didn't really mind, a small smile returning to her face. She didn't have much else to do, anyways.
"It's nice to meet you, then, Benny," she said, quite liking how his name felt on her tongue. It was nice. "Oh, well, close enough. It's Cosette," chuckling, she was somewhat surprised at herself. Usually she wasn't so open with how she spoke, but there was something relaxing about the fox. Or maybe it was just the fact he showed what she assumed was interest in learning about her. It was new and the feeling it gave her was nice. "Um, how have you been settling in? I'm sorry you had such a...rough time when you first came here."
