Had the circumstances been different, she might have turned out to be similar to Benny. She could have been the outgoing type, the one to make conversation, but she would never know. It was sad, but life continued. She liked her life as it was, anyways--or at least she convinced herself she did. Mostly it was just her settling with it because she didn't feel confident in trying to change. She had always seen it as a dangerous thing, and it was always proven to her that it was.
The serval gives a small shrug of her shoulders, still unsure how to take his advances. She was somewhat surprised that he was talking to her like this at all. It flustered her, to say the least. "Um, I think I'll be okay. I-I won't stay long," she explains, somewhat stiff, and drops her gaze down towards her paws. His offer to give protection wasn't unwelcome but it was still weird to her, as none had ever treated her like that. If anything, she had always been treated like a possession.
Then she realized that she didn't know who this was, even though she had been there when he first came to the Pitt. He had never said his name, yet Yes man still seemed to know who he was. It was odd. Anyways, she shuffled her paws before glancing back up at him again, a fluttering feeling in her stomach. "I'm sorry, but what was your name? I just, uh, don't think I ever heard you say it, sorry," and that was one too many 'sorry's in one sentence. Real smooth.
